- Quick Docs. for RBBSCtrl
-
- RBBSCtrl, meaning RBBS Control, is a little utility I wrote in
- order to enable SYSOPs to do certain things on a regular basis,
- worry free.
-
- RBBSCtrl is a simple program; to start it up for the first
- time all you have to type is "RBBSCTRL <CR>", and it will
- display a brief message explaining that it can't find the
- scheduling file. After that, it will bring up a menu, which
- from there you should select "B", or "Reset/Initialize
- Schedule". Next, a couple of lines down, a display will pop up
- with a sample date, and you must use the arrow keys, and number
- to change the date to the date you want this cycle to start on.
- Say for example you don't want to start the cycle until next
- week. After that, you must specify the number of days PER
- CYCLE. This is the number of days before it starts over again.
- So, if you wanted to execute something weekly, you would set
- this to 6. After this prompt, you must tell RBBSCtrl the
- filename for this schedule. This would allow you to have
- several schedules, and execute different programs on different
- days.
-
- If you want to check on a schedule, you would select "A" from
- the main menu. You would then be prompted for a schedule
- filename. Once you supply the filename, RBBSCtrl will tell you
- how the schedule is doing. (When it started, the cycle,
- ...etc.)
-
- After you have everything set up, you may run schedule from
- your RBBS.BAT file if you recycle to DOS, or from the
- RBBSTIME.BAT file. To do this, you must include:
-
- A) The filename of the schedule on the RBBSCtrl
- command line.
-
- B) A batch file command to check for the existance
- of the file "ITS_TIME.NOW", and then the batch
- file should erase that file, and branch to what
- it wants to do, depending on whether or not it
- exists.
-
- This will probably take a little tinkering, and included is a
- sample batch file for your use.

- RBBSCtrl is a User Supported software program. This means,
- instead of charging a direct fee for using the program, YOU, the
- user, decides how much to send, and if you want to send it in.
- This way, you can decide if you like the program before you pay
- for it. The suggested contribution for this program is $5.

- Thank you!
