  1.                            Quick Docs. for RBBSCtrl
  2.  
  3.           RBBSCtrl, meaning RBBS Control, is a little utility I wrote in
  4.         order to enable SYSOPs to do certain things on a regular  basis,
  5.         worry free.
  6.  
  7.           RBBSCtrl is  a simple  program; to  start it  up for the first
  8.         time  all  you  have  to  type  is  "RBBSCTRL <CR>", and it will
  9.         display  a  brief  message  explaining  that  it  can't find the
  10.         scheduling file.   After that,  it will  bring up  a menu, which
  11.         from  there   you  should   select  "B",   or  "Reset/Initialize
  12.         Schedule".  Next, a couple of lines down, a display will pop  up
  13.         with a sample date, and you must use the arrow keys, and  number
  14.         to change the date to the date you want this cycle to start  on.
  15.         Say for  example you  don't want  to start  the cycle until next
  16.         week.   After  that,  you  must  specify  the number of days PER
  17.         CYCLE.  This is the number of days before it starts over  again.
  18.         So, if  you wanted  to execute  something weekly,  you would set
  19.         this  to  6.   After  this  prompt,  you  must tell RBBSCtrl the
  20.         filename  for  this  schedule.   This  would  allow  you to have
  21.         several schedules, and  execute different programs  on different
  22.         days.

  24.           If you want to check on a schedule, you would select "A"  from
  25.         the  main  menu.   You  would  then  be  prompted for a schedule
  26.         filename.  Once you supply the filename, RBBSCtrl will tell  you
  27.         how  the  schedule  is  doing.   (When  it  started,  the cycle,
  28.         ...etc.)

  30.           After you have  everything set up,  you may run  schedule from
  31.         your  RBBS.BAT  file  if  you  recycle  to  DOS,  or  from   the
  32.         RBBSTIME.BAT file.  To do this, you must include:

  34.              A) The  filename  of  the  schedule  on the RBBSCtrl
  35.                 command line.
  36.  
  37.              B) A batch file command  to check for the  existance
  38.                 of the  file "ITS_TIME.NOW",  and then  the batch
  39.                 file should erase that  file, and branch to  what
  40.                 it wants to  do, depending on  whether or not  it
  41.                 exists.

  43.           This will probably take a little tinkering, and included is  a
  44.         sample batch file for your use.

  56.           RBBSCtrl is  a User  Supported software  program.  This means,
  57.         instead of charging a direct fee for using the program, YOU, the
  58.         user, decides how much to send,  and if you want to send  it in.
  59.         This way, you can decide if you like the program before you  pay
  60.         for it.  The suggested contribution for this program is $5.
